• Attractive and Functional Bedroom Furniture
    by Melissa W.

When you are outfitting a new bedroom, it is very important that you find things that are both functional and beautiful. You do not want to have things that look great but serve no purpose, or you will eventually become so frustrated with them that you will not want to use them. At the same time, you do not want to buy ugly things that work very well; you also have to live in the bedroom, in the home, so it needs to be attractive and comfortable for you.

When looking at shelving units, it is a good idea to get units that are made from plastic and metal, but that are covered in leather or cloth. This makes them look so much better. If they are just made of plastic and that plastic is visible, you will not enjoy the way that they look. They will be lightweight, durable, and functional, but you will still regret buying them. If you get some that are covered in cloth, they will blend right into the room's decorative scheme.

As far as dressers are concerned, you should try to find long, low dressers that have mirrors attached to them. They look very good and they can even help the room to look larger. You will be amazed at how large a small room can look if it has a mirror in it. They are also nice because they serve two purposes, providing you with a place to store your clothes and a mirror to use while you are getting ready for the day. By having one piece of furniture that can do multiple things, you will ensure that your furniture is efficient.

If you are outfitting a child's room, you may want to consider getting a bed that can have another bed under it. These nested beds come in sets. The second bed is exactly the same as the first, but the frame is slightly smaller so that it can fit in under the first. This gives child a second bed when they need it - if a friend comes over to spend the night, for instance - but does not waste space when they do not need the second bed.
